Off The Grain
Off The Grain is a product-focused website with a wealth of stunning imagery. The objective was to enhance the user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) while maintaining the brand’s earthy and natural aesthetic.
This project presented me with the opportunity to tackle a vast catalogue of products and variations. The extensive mega menu was a significant challenge, given the volume of content involved. However, I was able to overcome this hurdle through careful planning and execution.
Creative Freedom
The client provided loose brand guidelines that focused primarily on color and typography. This allowed me creative freedom to explore different design options and produce a visually striking website that captures the essence of the brand.
Overall, I am pleased with the execution of this project. The design elements are subtle, light, and complementary to the site’s content, allowing the products to shine. However, upon review, I noticed that some text content extends too far out to the edges, and the spacing around text sections could be improved. Addressing these issues would further enhance the user experience.
In summary, the Off The Grain project challenged me to tackle a vast and complex product catalogue while adhering to the client’s brand guidelines. The resulting website is a visually stunning representation of the brand’s earthy and natural aesthetic, with design elements that complement the content. While there is room for improvement, I believe the site effectively meets its goals of providing an intuitive and aesthetically pleasing user experience.
